Mild Whisky
Are you looking for mild whisky to drink straight and whisky that isn't spicy? Then take a look at our mild whiskies. Whether you perceive a whisky as mild or strong depends on many factors. For example, the distillery character. Here are a few distilleries in Scotland that are known for their mild character: In the Speyside region, Aberlour, Glenlivet and Glenfiddich are very smooth and mild. In the Scottish Highlands, you will find Aberfeldy, Dalwhinnie, Tomatin, Glengoyne and Glenmorangie soft whiskies. The two classic Lowland whiskies Auchentoshan and Glenkinchie are also very mild. If you are looking for a mild, smoky whisky, try Lagavulin and Bowmore. Ireland is known for its fruity and mild Irish whiskeys. Try Redbreast, Bushmills or Jameson as a classic from the Emerald Isle. The age of the whisky also influences how smooth and mild it is. The older the whisky, the smoother, more flavourful and softer it becomes. Especially at the beginning of your whisky journey, we recommend opting for low-proof whiskies. This is because the alcohol content is a decisive factor in the sharpness and intensity of whisky and whiskey. Below we have selected whiskies that are not smoky and have an alcohol content of 40 - 43% vol. Here you will find many whiskies with a mild flavour. If you want to add a mild flavour, look for whiskies aged 15 years or more. Have fun discovering.
