Under the name The Singleton, the single malt whiskies from the distilleries Glendullan (Speyside), Dufftown (Speyside) and Glen Ord (Highlands) are bottled. The bottlings from The Singleton are characterised by a very soft and mild profile, which makes them ideal aperitif and relaxing after-work whiskies. The two Speyside distilleries produce non-smoky single malt Scotch whisky. The flavours of Glendullan tend towards soft fruit notes and fine, floral aromas. Dufftown single malts are nutty and slightly spicy with flavours of sweet caramel and malt with a slightly grassy undertone. With Glen Ord, you will find grassy notes and bright fruits as well as a delicate background smoke from time to time. Bottled at a mild 40% volume, The Singleton whiskies are also perfect for whisky novices as they are particularly smooth.

The Singleton is essentially a trio of single malts, each with a growing range of bottlings. There is a 12 year old bottling for each variant of The Singleton. The Singleton of Glen Ord was the first. Diageo's grassy single malt from the Black Isle was originally intended for the Asian market. Then the two Speyside distilleries were added. The Singleton of Glendullan, with its fruity character, was developed for the USA and Canada. The Singleton of Dufftown, more on the nutty and spicy side, went to the European market. All three versions are now available worldwide.

All variants of The Singleton of Glendullan, Dufftown and Glen Ord have been joined by other bottlings over time. Older bottlings with 18 years of age and variants without an age statement were released. These include Dufftown's Spey Cascade, Tailfire and Sunray as well as Glendullan's Master's Art, which is matured in Muscat casks.

In 2006, the Singleton range was released. First came Glen Ord, then Glendullan and Dufftown 12 months later. The great success of the brand triggered an extensive expansion of the Glen Ord Distillery in 2014. The whisky production capacity was increased to an impressive 10 million LPA (litres of alcohol per year). This corresponds to a doubling of the previous capacity. In the same year, The Singleton of Dufftown Tailfire and Sunray were launched on the market. These were the first two NAS bottlings (No Age Statement).

Diageo's aim with The Singleton single malt brand is to compete against the top dogs The Glenlivet and Glenfiddich. Both have been vying for the title of best-selling single malt Scotch whisky for years.
