Highland Park
The single malt from Highland Park is rightly described as one of the best all-rounders among Scotch whiskies. It combines the sweetness of wild honey with warm notes from the sherry casks and a delicate heather smoke. The Viking whisky from the storm-tossed Orkney Islands is surprisingly soft and warming. Perhaps just what you need on a stormy night on the Orkneys. The Highland Park 12 year old is a bank in terms of enjoyment and value for money. Enjoy Highland Park, a sip of Scotland in a glass!

There can only be one...
Highland Park is one of the most highly respected names in the world of whisky and is extremely popular. But one thing is remarkable: in 1984, Highland Park was the ONLY single malt to be awarded the top score of "100%" by the tasting team of the Scottish national newspaper The Scotsman. Hats off.
What does Highland Park mean? Translation: High Park (derived from "High Park", the name of the land on which the distillery was built)
Where is Highland Park Distillery located? Highland Park is located in the capital of the Orkney Islands, Kirkwall.
Region: Islands (Orkney) - Island Whisky
A little history about Highland Park
The roots of Scotland's northernmost distillery go back to 1798, when a certain Magnus Eunson demonstrably began to distil black spirit on the site.
In 1825, Robert Borwick built the current distillery there, which received its official licence a year later and remained in the family until 1869.
In 1890, Highland Park passed to James Grant, who expanded the distillery from two to four stills in 1898.
From 1918 to 1937, under the management of the Highland Distillers Group, the distillery was shut down, it seems to have been secured and fortunately continues to produce.
Interesting neighbourly help: from 1997 to 2005, Highland Park employees also operated the neighbouring Scapa distillery. In return, Highland Park was allowed to use Scapa's warehouses.
What does Highland Park taste like?
The malt whisky expert Michael Jackson called Highland Park "The greatest all-rounder in the world of malt whisky". And it's true, it actually has everything a single malt can have: Fine sweetness, spiciness, light smoke, a body that is as lush as it is soft and: Heather! All in all, not as strong as its Islay counterparts, but quite a powerful, big malt.
3 reasons to love Highland Park
1) Because you need a lot of warmth and attention this far north.
2) Because it goes down like oil.
3) Because "The Scotsman" knows his stuff.
The one Highland Park dram for the desert island
The wonderfully full, spicy original bottling Highland Park 18 Year Old won the gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition for good reason.
