Ardnamurchan is a young whisky distillery in the Western Highlands. The independent bottler Adelphi received the building licence in 2012 and the distillery was able to start production in 2014. The Ardnamurchan Distillery is named after the distillery of the same name, which was founded in 1826 but was located in the Lowlands. The ancestors of the founders of Adelphi owned the old distillery for a time. However, today's remote location of Ardnamurchan is much better suited to the exciting Highland single malt. After all, the peninsula bears the same name. Ardnamurchan produces aromatic, powerful Highland whiskies. It distils smoky, non-smoky and only slightly smoky whiskies. The Highland distillery places great importance on sustainability and harmonising with its beautiful surroundings. Ardnamurchan obtains its electricity from a hydroelectric power plant. The river that supplies the distillery with electricity also serves as a source for the distillation cooling systems. A biomass boiler fuelled by wood from the surrounding area is used to heat the pot stills. As if all this wasn't exciting enough, the single malt from Ardnamurchan stands for itself.
