Belgium Whisky
Belgium is known for beer, waffles, chocolate and fries, but for whisky? Yet culturally, whisky production is not so far removed from Belgium. With beer brewing, the Belgians have already perfected one stage of whisky production and, thanks to the long history of jenever and gin, they are also no strangers to distilling. The fact that whisky from Belgium has something to offer is no longer so surprising on closer inspection. There are indeed several whisky brands in Belgium, but only a few are sold outside the country. Belgian whiskies that we would like to recommend to you are the single malts from Owl Distillery and Het Anker Brewery with its Gouden Carolus single malt. Both distilleries distil according to Scottish quality standards. The Owl Distillery even distils on the old stills of the former Caperdonich Distillery from Speyside. Het Anker had copper pot stills specially supplied for its Moldenberg distillery by the renowned coppersmith Forsyth's in Rothes, Scotland. So Belgium doesn't mess around when it comes to Belgian whisky. Take a look and taste what Belgian whisky has to offer.
