A whisky tumbler is a rather heavy glass with a thick base. The base of the tumbler means that the heat from the hand is not absorbed as quickly by the whisky. Tumblers are often used in conjunction with bourbon. In this case, the whisky is traditionally served "on the rocks", i.e. with plenty of ice. Here, too, it is advisable to pay attention to the size of the ice cubes. Small ice cubes add a lot of water to the whisky very quickly, whereas large ice cubes melt more slowly and therefore do not water down the whisky as quickly. The tumbler is therefore the choice for all whisky fans who like to enjoy their favourite dram "on the rocks". The whisky tumbler is not so suitable for enjoying a single malt, as the flavours evaporate very quickly due to the large opening of the glass. In this case, a nosing glass is more advisable, as it has a smaller opening and the flavours can be retained for longer.
