The current Star Hill distillery was built in 1889 in Loretto, Nelson County, Kentucky.
Bill Samuels bought it in 1953 and renovated it vigorously.
From 1959 Maker's Mark grew to become the market leader in Kentucky, and the bourbon with the red Mesitersiegel (Maker's Mark) is also indispensable from the scene pubs of New York.
