The History of A.H. Riise Rum
The A.H. Riise brand goes back to the Danish pharmacist and factory worker Albert Heinrich Riise. When he, the son of a sailor and his wife, worked in various pharmacies in Copenhagen, he also studied chemistry and botany. In 1838 he visited the West Indies. There he received a license to produce alcohol as a pharmacist. After A.H. Riise founded his own pharmacy, which he owned alone in 1843, he was now a successful, independent businessman. He found great delight in experimenting with the flora and fauna of the Caribbean to create alcoholic beverages. This was the cornerstone for the foundation of the now famous A.H. Riise Rum. At that time it was known as Double Distilled Bay Rum by A. H. Riise. The unique taste that defines A.H. Riise Rum only came about over the years. It was carried into the world by the sailors, because it was extremely popular with them from the first few seconds. It became so coveted that it was exported all over the world under several different names alongside A.H. Riise. The distillery enjoyed steady popularity. The special A.H. Riise varieties, which are mainly offered at Christmas, were developed by the descendants of the company founder. The company's headquarters are just below Copenhagen, the Danish capital. In Dragør, the company is still run by A.H. Riise's family under the name United Spirits Brand.
What does A.H. Riise Rum taste like?
With the delicious brown rums and spiced rums from A. H. Riise, sweet aromas of vanilla and caramel await you.
