Old Scotch Whisky
Whisky or whiskey has to mature in wooden barrels until it is ready. The time in the cask ensures the colour and the depth of flavour of the whisky. The longer a whisky matures in a cask, the more colour and aromas the cask can release into the whisky. As a result, older whiskies tend to take on adarker colour than younger whiskies. Of course, this depends on the cask. A first fill (first-filled cask) gives off colour more quickly than a refill (refilled cask). However, it is undisputed that the depth of flavour, complexity and viscosity increases with age. The increasing scarcity of old whiskies has led to a steady rise in prices. As a result, aged whiskies, especially single malts, can also be a value investment and investment. Whether and how much the value of a collector's whisky increases naturally does not depend on age alone. However, age has crystallised as an important criterion when investing. Here we have put together a selection of whiskies aged 18 years or older. Have fun discovering them!
