A little history

High in the rough North, the Pulteney Distillery was founded in 1826 by James Henderson and stayed in the family for a long time. Not until almost a century later, in 1920, did it change hands for the first time, when James Watson & Co ltd. bought the distillery.
Subsequently, the owner changes followed much faster: 1923 bought John Dewar's & Sons Ltd. the distillery, just two years later, Pulteney became the property of DLC (Distillers Company Limited).
In 1930, the distillery was closed for many years.
The lawyer Robert Cumming finally bought the abandoned distillery in 1951 and brought Pulteney to life again. Four years later, in 1955, Hiram Walker bought the distillery and had it completely renovated in 1959. Since 1995, Pulteney is owned by the Inver House Distillers.

What do I actually have in the glass?

The proximity to the sea you notice the Malt from the port city. Not for nothing Old Pulteney is also called "The Maritime Malt". The whiskey runs through a fresh breeze of North Sea air with salty notes, some smoke and fine sweetness.

3 reasons to love Pulteney

1) Because the malt is like his home.
2) Because most of us have a sailor.
3) Because Wick is worth the trip.

The one drama for the lonely island

The 12-year-old has the typical Pulteney sea-air character. A malt like a walk at the harbor at wind force 8.
