La Maison du Rhum is a French family business that specialises in bottling high-quality rums from all over the world. The focus is primarily on French-influenced rhum agricole and vintage rum, which is made from molasses, has a normal alcohol content and is aged for several years. The company sources its rums from countries such as Martinique, Guadeloupe, Colombia, Trinidad, La Réunion, Saint Lucia, Guatemala and Venezuela. They offer a range of fine, dark rums in beautiful gift packaging, most of which are blends rather than limited edition single cask bottlings. La Maison du Rhum sets itself apart from other rum bottlers by focussing on country-specific high-quality rums rather than distillates from specific distilleries. Its rums can be enjoyed neat and are based on sugar cane juice, sugar cane honey or molasses, depending on the country of origin. The company was founded by the La Viny family, who gained valuable experience with agricole rum on the Caribbean islands and are descendants of the famous rum ambassador Gerard La Viny.
