As early as 1820, John Walker began mixing and blending various Scotch whiskies in order to create something his own and new . Today, the No. 1 Scotch whisky export shows just how successful he was. No other Scotch whisky is bought as often as Johnnie Walker. By blending flavoursome malt whisky and light, sweet grain whisky, John Walker created a Scotch whisky for the palates of his era. Light, accessible, fruity and with just a hint of smoke. What does Johnnie Walker taste like today? The smoky whisky is more presentable today. The character of Johnnie Walker has expanded through numerous bottlings for every taste. The Scottish brand has much more to offer than the Johnnie Walker Red Label. If you are looking for a smoky and yet light scotch, reach for the Johnnie Walker Black Label 12 Years or the Johnnie Walker Double Black. In addition to peat smoke, you will also find vanilla, toffee and beautiful fruity notes. Most Johnnie Walkers are blended Scotch whiskies, but the Johnnie Walker Green Label 15 years is an exception. Various single malts come together here, without grain whisky. It is therefore a 15-year-old blended malt whisky. An inexpensive recommendation if you are not a fan of blended whiskies.
