From 2013 to 2023, Yoshiharu Takeuchi realized his vision: to produce extraordinary rum using artisanal techniques traditionally reserved for single malt. At his Nine Leaves distillery in Otsu, Japan, he left nothing to chance. From the fermentation of the Kokuto whole cane sugar to the labeling,he managed every aspect of production himself - thus ensuring that Nine Leaves Rum reflects his devotion to the craft in every drop.

After the distillery closed, La Maison & Velier acquired the entire stock of aged rums as well as the last batch of unaged rum.Now the first bottlings under new auspices show: The legacy of Nine Leaves will live on!

The traditional Japanese card game Unsun Karuta served as the inspiration for this small batch bottling.

The name says it all: The Nine Leaves - Last Drops contains the last rum that was distilled in 2023 before the distillery was dismantled.
Fermented for four days and with a powerful 62%vol. bottled, the unaged rum unfolds a dynamic spectrum of notes of menthol, fresh sugar cane juice and medicinal notes.
