But a dedicated group of rye enthusiasts have set out in search of the perfect whiskey in an inconspicuous place. In Shoreham, Vermont (USA) they found a farm with 500 hectares of arable land for growing rye and grain and restored the former dairy barn to make it a distillery. The former milk room offers the best conditions for whiskey bottling.
This crazy idea has grown into a significant story. WhistlePig is the first whiskey with zero generations of family tradition. Visionary founder and master distiller Dave Pickerell created a space for experimental whiskey, then handed it over to the youngest, most restless and most rebellious team in the industry. Because he knew: You will never stop fighting for Rye, breaking the boundaries of American whiskey and making mistakes. Of course, there is much to learn from the past.
