With Bumbu, the independent bottler Bumbu Rum Company has created a little pirate treasure. The home of Bumbu Barbados is regarded as the cradle of rum, but only has a few rum distilleries left today. So it is all the better that with Bumbu, the rum tradition is once again firmly established in Barbados. Using rum made from the best sugar cane from Barbados, Panama and other West Indies islands, a blend is created here that does justice to the beautiful bottles. A craft rum with a chic design and harmonious character. The brown rum matures in ex-bourbon barrels and partly ex-sherry barrels for many years until it reaches perfection. Discover the "Greatest of all time" now, as Bumbu confidently calls itself. Well, pirates tend to exaggerate. It's best to make up your own mind.
Bumbu Rum - rum enjoyment with Caribbean flair
The Caribbean is primarily known for its picturesque landscape and beautiful beaches. However, the variety of exotic delicacies and spirits should not be overlooked. This naturally includes the flavourful and popular Bumbu Rum from the small island state of Barbados. It is known for its particularly aromatic and memorable flavour. High-quality and natural ingredients ultimately give the rum an unmistakable flavour. This aroma and flavour is due to the variety of different spices and fruity notes such as cinnamon, Madagascar vanilla, ripe banana and caramel. Although the traditional production of this popular spirit takes some time and patience, it is definitely worth the wait. After all, savouring the sweet rum will transport you for a moment to the idyllic sandy beaches of the Caribbean island.
About Bumbu Rum
Rum has been one of the world's most popular spirits for many centuries. After all, no well-stocked bar should be without it. It can also be used in many different ways. Choosing the right type of rum is often particularly difficult. However, by buying a bottle of Bumbu Rum, you can bring a touch of Caribbean flair directly into your home. The special flavour of this brand has already earned the producers several important awards, such as at the prestigious International Wine and Spirits Competition in Los Angeles. This underlines the quality of the rum. The rum also has a very special and historic name. After all, the brand name of Bumbu rum has its origins in times long past. It dates back to the 16th and 17th centuries. To be more precise, it is the Caribbean name for flavoured rum. The term was primarily coined and popularised by local sailors and merchants. They refined their rum centuries ago with fruits and various flavours and spices. This gave rise to a traditional approach that still characterises rum production today. Barbados is therefore considered a pioneering location for the centuries-long production of this popular spirit. The historic recipe is still used in the production of Bumbu Rum. Fruity additives and high-quality spices refine the Spiced Rum and ensure a memorable flavour.
The production of Bumbu Rum
Bumbu Rum is made from high-quality sugar cane, which comes exclusively from sustainable production. Particular attention is paid to the best possible quality of the ingredients. The sugar cane molasses is imported from various countries in the Caribbean and South America and then distilled into a flavoursome rum. Most flavoured rums are often spiced up with the help of artificial additives. At Bumbu, natural spices and fruit flavours are added to the rum before it is matured in a former bourbon barrel. The rum must gradually develop its individual flavours. This traditional approach is essential for the production of the rum. Years of ageing ultimately guarantee an intense and full-bodied flavour. The unmistakable flavour sets Bumbu Rum apart from its competitors.
What does Bumbu Rum taste like?
The taste of the original Caribbean Bumbu Rum impresses with its spicy and fruity notes. You will notice a delicate flavour of caramel, Madagascar vanilla and a hint of oak wood. The combination of different and varied flavours makes for an extremely intense and impressive aroma. The flavour of cinnamon and allspice is a particular feature of the rum. The aroma of roasted nuts and ripe bananas rounds off the enjoyment and gives the rum an unmistakable flavour and aroma potpourri. With a glass of Bumbu Rum, you can look forward to a sweet taste experience with an extremely mild and smooth finish.
The Bumbu Rum range
If you are looking for the right rum, you can get to know the different variants of Bumbu better. You have the choice between Bumbu The Original Barbados Rum Flavour Spirit and Bumbu XO. Bumbu The Original is a rum-based spirit, i.e. not a pure rum. It has the famous fruity flavour, which promises a light finish. This is the most popular and therefore best-selling variant of Bumbu. However, if you are interested in a slightly spicier variant, you should take a closer look at the Bumbu XO from Panama. This variant matures for around 18 years in a former bourbon barrel. The rum is then transferred to a former Spanish sherry cask and stored for a further six months. This process is particularly essential for the development of the flavours. The result is an extremely intense flavour. This variety captivates with a hint of toffee, toasted oak, orange peel and pepper and provides an extremely complex flavour. A pleasant vanilla note is of course also a must. This can be recognised from the very first sip. When tasting this special variant, you can sit back and relax and explore the different flavours at your leisure.
The bronze-coloured rum can be drunk either at room temperature or on ice. You can enjoy it neat or as a base for exotic cocktails. The different varieties of BUMBU rum enhance any drink immensely. Whether you want to share it with your friends or enjoy it on its own is up to you. In any case, nothing stands in the way of cosy evenings with a high-quality glass of rum.
