Portrait: What makes the Darroze 1999 Domaine de Busquet Bas-Armagnac Journal des Kirsch N. 10 special
Ready for flowing stories from France full of excitement, Surprise, delight, and variety? The Domaine de Busquet 1999 is now writing a new chapter in the Kirsch journal. This single cask from Darroze takes you to the heart of Armagnac production: near the historic town of Labastide-d'Armagnac in the Bas Armagnac region. In keeping with centuries-old tradition, complex and luscious Armagnacs are distilled here from slowly ripened grapes. The particularly sandy soils lend them a profound, earthy note. In 1999, the region's excellent conditions met the optimal climatic conditions in southwest France. Ideal temperatures and rainfall resulted in a wonderful balance of fruitiness, spice, and minerality in this vintage's Armagnacs. The 1999 Domaine du Busquet expresses this complexity with notes of wet wood and moist soil, which transition to cherries, dried plums, and the warmth of leather and tobacco. An elegant mineral freshness completes the taste experience.
With a natural strength of 49.5% vol. The Armagnac was bottled in only 204 bottles.

- Palate: the palate reveals an impressive depth:Damp forest floors and wet wood open the experience, accompanied by intense notes of dark cherries and dried plums - the long maturation period is reflected in the concentration of fruit aromas, while dark cocoa contributes a fine, pleasant bitterness. Leather and tobacco notes lend the overall picture additional warmth and structure
