Portrait: What makes the Teaninich 17 year old 1st-fill Pedro Ximénez Sherry Hogshead #4 Signatory Symington's Choice special
Since 1988, Signatory Vintage has been a bottler of exceptional whisky treasures and, in this relatively short time for the whisky world, has established itself internationally in the industry.
With his bottlings, Andrew Symington makes whiskies accessible to connoisseurs that would otherwise remain hidden.
Signatory has rescued this treasure from the more than 10,000 hogsheads, butts, and Barrels stored in the halls of Signatory Vintage.
Andrew Symington is an expert in tracking down exclusive Scotch whiskies. For the Symington's Choice series, the Signatory founder personally selects rare and expertly matured whiskies. With its malty, fruity and creamy characteristics, Teaninich single malt is the main ingredient for Johnnie Walker - and correspondingly rare. The Teaninich 2007/2025 is a 17-year-old find with a sherry finish.

Tasting Notes: This is how the Teaninich 17 year old 1st-fill Pedro Ximénez Sherry Hogshead #4 Signatory Symington’s Choice tastes like
- Nose: fruity sweetness with aromas of ripe pears and red apples, with a creamy vanilla note - in the background, fine malt aromas and a hint of toffee, accompanied by subtle oak spice and a hint of dried apricots
- Palate: soft and round on the tongue - full-bodied with a creamy texture, malt sugar and light raisins meet dried plums, accompanied by a slightly nutty undertone - the sherry brings dark fruit notes and fine spice without masking the elegant distillery character
- Finish: medium to long, pleasantly warm - with lingering sweetness of milk coffee and dried fruit - finally a trace of oak, cocoa and a fine spicy note
