Not a distillery - and yet a proven destination for discerning connoisseurs: Port Askaig demonstrates the flavor spectrum of the Isle of Islay in independent bottlings. Named after the access point to the whisky island on the northeast coast, the single malts released at cask strength or with an age statement retain the name of their distillery of origin.

One of the brand's older "mystery drams" is the Port Askaig 25 year old. When selecting the casks, the focus was on outstanding flavor and a full-bodied texture rather than on distillery details. A proud quarter-century in oak casks has given the whisky floral notes and aromas of exotic fruits, rounded off with leather, smoke, and spices. The effect? ​​The robust peat character is wonderfully complemented. This memorable dram was bottled at 45.8%vol. bottled without chill filtration or coloring.

• Nose: initial aromas of coal smoke, complemented by tropical fruits such as pineapple, lychee and guava juice - with a little water a soft blend of garden flowers, peach, cherry and burnt matchsticks emerges
