A wonderful Macduff, distilled in 2009 - a Highlander that, after over 14 years in a bourbon barrel, underwent a very successful final maturation for over 10 months in a 1st-fill Pedro Ximénez Sherry Barrique. A creamy, almost juicy drop with raisins, cocoa, and blackberries on the nose, then a multi-layered wave rolls over the palate: sultanas, walnut bread, maple syrup, strawberry compote - before fine tobacco notes, ginger, and cherry form the finale.
