Wolfburn succeeded in acquiring some beautiful, fresh Cognac Casks in mid-2024 to get their hands on the barrels they used to give this very special single malt whisky a unique finish.

The Casks were made from the finest French Limousin oak, which most experts consider to be excellent maturation wood.
The 2017 Wolfburn 8 year old was initially aged in first-fill Bourbon Casks and then transferred to these wonderful French Cognac Casks for the final six months of maturation.

Subtle notes of the Cognac it once contained have wonderfully infiltrated the whisky, giving it a remarkable sweetness and depth of flavor.

There are only 3,900 bottles in total.

• Nose: aromas of dried fruits combined with sweet port flavors, followed by vanilla, a hint of coffee, and dark chocolate
• Palate: a truly decadent malt whisky - luscious notes of dried apricots and almonds, then vanilla again paired with warm spicy tones - after a while, barley sugar and soft dark chocolate
• Finish: intense sweetness Notes on the finish - vanilla and autumn fruits are present, followed by caramel and sea salt
