The Grace O'Malley Dark Char Cask Whiskey combines carefully selected batches of double- and triple-distilled single malts and grain whiskeys. Its high proportion of double-distilled malt whiskey ensures exceptional depth and complexity. Its maturation in heavily charred American oak barrels gives it a smooth texture, harmonious fruitiness, and a long, sweet finish. A unique blend for those who Appreciate intense aromas with soft elegance.

Who was Grace O'Malley?

Grace O'Malley, also known as the "Pirate Queen" of Ireland, was what we would call a real "boss lady" today - only in the 16th century and with a ship instead of an office. Her nickname "Gráinne Mhaol" (the "Shorn One") didn't come from the fact that she eschewed hairstyles - no, she simply shaved her head to show her father that she was just as capable as he was!
She not only made a name for herself as a fearless sailor, but also as a nightmare for the English kingdom. She led her own fleet and was known for mastering everything from raiding merchant ships to naval battles.
And all this without the typical pirate clichés - no eye patch, no parrots, but a lot of charm and a fair amount of cheek.
She became a symbol of resistance against English colonial rule.

Grace showed the world that a woman could not only keep up in a male-dominated world, but also sail at the forefront. Grace O'Malley was even received by Queen Elizabeth I - a meeting in which she confidently confronted the monarch. If anyone back then could call it "business" If anyone took pirates seriously, it was Grace!

Today she would probably be considered "The First Lady of the High Seas" - with a healthy dose of Irish pride!
To this day, Grace O'Malley is more than just a pirate legend for Ireland - she stands for courage, independence, and the unwavering determination to stand up against all forms of oppression.
You could say she was Ireland's first "girl power" icon. And who knows, maybe she'd still have the best tips for your next business strategies on the high seas!
