Portrait: What makes the Tullamore Dew special

Tullamore Dew originally comes from the Tullamore Distillery, founded in 1829 in Tullamore, County Offaly.
Daniel E. Williams ran the distillery in the late 19th century and gave the whiskey its current name (Dew means (morning) dew).

Following the major crisis in the Irish whiskey market, the distillery closed in 1954.
The Tullamore Dew brand came to John Power & Son.
Today, Tullamore Dew belongs to Beam Global and is produced at the Irish distillery in Midleton.

• Nose: distinct aromas of ripe fruit, with warm pastries with toffee and caramel
• Palate: full-bodied with notes of sherry and spices, warm toast with butter and honey, followed by vanilla
• Finish: long finish - more caramel and toffee
