Portrait: What makes the Glenlossie 2012 100 Proof Edition #35 Signatory Vintage special.

The 100 Proof Edition has been successfully closing a gap in the Signatory range since 2024. The single malts in the series are bottled at 57.1% vol., the minimum content at which gunpowder soaked in alcohol can be ignited. What also ignites: High percentages meet low prices. The series will demonstrate its advantageous properties in spring 2025 with the 12-year-old Glenlossie from the Scottish Speyside.

The smooth Glenlossie 2012/2025 spent its twelve years in first fill Oloroso sherry butts as well as in bourbon hogsheads. The Speyside single malt is used almost exclusively for blends by the owner Diageo. Bottlings such as the 100 Proof Edition #35 are therefore the exception. Connoisseurs will discover floral and malty tones alongside notes of almonds, vanilla and dried apricots.

Tasting Notes: This is how the Glenlossie 2012 100 Proof Edition #35 Signatory Vintage tastes like

• Nose: initially warm malty aromas, then becoming more floral with distinct toffee and vanilla
• Palate: again the malty notes, with intense notes of almonds - then becoming noticeably fruitier with notes of oranges, dried apricots and nectarines
• Finish: the malty note remains present for a long time - slightly sweet notes of apricots and nectarines hover over everything
