Portrait: What makes the Craigellachie 2014 100 Proof Edition #39 Signatory Vintage special

The 100 Proof Edition has been successfully closing a gap in the Signatory range since 2024. The single malts in the series are bottled at 57.1%vol., the minimum content at which gunpowder soaked in alcohol can be ignited. What also ignites: High percentages meet low prices. The series is now demonstrating its advantageous properties with two new products from Speyside. 

Signatory underlines the full-bodied, oily character of the Craigellachie distillates with a triple maturation: In addition to barrels that were previously filled with Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso Sherry, the Craigellachie 2014/2025 was matured in Dechar/Rechar Hogsheads. For the latter type of Cask, the charcoal layer in the barrel is first removed before it is burned out again and thus rejuvenated. The effect? Ten intensive years of maturation.
