Portrait: What makes the Jean-Luc Pasquet L.70 Le Cognac d’Arlette - Trésors de Famille special

They have been directly or indirectly connected since 1730: the vineyard and the family of Jean-Luc Pasquet. The high-quality cognacs of the family business are created entirely by hand - today under the direction of son Jean and his wife Amy. With Trésors de Famille the two founded a series that tells the stories of winemakers or master distillers from the region

Le Cognac d’Arlette L.70 is the liquid legacy of Arlette Pinaud. The 93-year-old now looks back on a life dedicated to cognac. Born in 1931 on her family's vineyard in the tranquil village of Lagarde-sur-le-Né, she married Guy Noblet, the son of a winemaker, in 1956. The couple combined their vineyards in Petite and Grande Champagne as well as Fins Bois and became professional distillers.

Arlette and Guy distilled the Petite Champagne Cognac more than half a century ago in the 1970 vintage. Anyone who opens the time capsule, which is limited to 366 bottles, can expect an “[…] awesome cognac […]“, as Serge Valentin from whiskyfun.com finds.

Arlette's precious estate, in which aromas of dried apricots, candied lemon and chocolate on rancio notes, walnut, saffron and pepper meet, Serge Valentin honors with a proud 91 points.
