Portrait: What makes the Hedonism - Limited Annual Release 2025 Compass Box special

Hedonism was the first ever released by Compass Box 25 years ago Whisky and was the first of its kind to pave the way for the category of blended grains from Scotland. Since 2024, the multi-award-winning classic has been released as a limited annual bottling - and combines whisky craft and art to create a series of collectibles.

For the Limited Annual Release 2025, the Argentine-born artist Sofia Bonati staged the iconic Hedonism figure. Her captivating, dreamlike female portraits are created from the combination of a wide variety of materials and create figures full of strength.

The Blended Grain combines whisky from the Cameronbridge and Girvan distilleries with older Hedonism versions. All components were allowed to rest for a long time with 15 to 25 years. For this purpose, Compass Box primarily used Bourbon Barrels.

Some of the Cameronbridge, however, matured for two years in a first-filled Marsala Barrique - for additional sweetness and notes of red fruit.

With a stronger 46%vol. filled in 9,912 collectible bottles, Hedonism offers connoisseurs a complex taste experience of caramel, peach puree, chocolate mousse and baking spices, culminating in a fresh, fruity finale.

The Cameronbridge Distillery Single Grain (61.1%), 1st-fill Bourbon Barrels
Hedonism Blended Grain 2022/2023 (28.8%), Refill Bourbon Barrels
The Girvan Distillery Single Grain (10.1%), 1st-fill Marsala Barrique

Tasting Notes: This is how the Hedonism - Limited Annual Release 2025 Compass Box tastes like

• Nose: initially soft caramel and powdered sugar - followed by aromas of pure peach puree, cocoa and ripe Pears
• Palate: full and round in taste - mousse au chocolat, nutmeg, vanilla pudding and cinnamon come to the fore
• Finish: invigorating-fresh finish with light grapes, sweet Fuji apple and vanilla
