Portrait: What makes the Chez Lion - Bespoke Release Compass Box special

Compass Box has been clearing for over 20 years with the image of the blend category. The “Whiskymakers” rely on perfectionism and a level of transparency, for which they have sometimes taken on the Scotch Whisky Association. The results? Blends in a class of their own.
The guided Le Lion - Bar de Paris on Hamburg's Rathausstrasse is the right place to go. Both creators are now joining forces for a special edition limited to 1,710 bottles.
 
Compass Box Chez Lion was personally designed in London by Jörg Meyer put together.

The Blended Scotch Whisky is made for mixing. For this reason, “Head Whiskeymaker” James Saxon has equipped it with elegance as well as enough intensity - for expressiveness in the cocktail.

Chez Lion was composed from components from Linkwood, Cameronbridge and the popular The Spice Tree from Compass Box, which comes in a selection of Sherry, Bourbon and Moscatel casks ripened.
Lush notes of nutsand fruitmerge with creamy cocoa and oak spice.

Tasting Notes: This is how the Chez Lion - Bespoke Release tastes like

• Nose: clear aromas of juicy dried figs at the beginning and raisins, followed by nectarines and apricots - then hints of dark chocolate and roasted almonds emerge - spiced with cinnamon in the background Orange peel
• Palate: full and complex in taste, pleasant mouthfeel with sweet and spicy notes, clearly ripe red apples and green pears, accompanied by mild honey, milk chocolate and candied orange peel - Above all, sweet and spicy sherry with hints of cloves and nutmeg
• Finish: soft and medium-long finish - the roasted ones Almonds, figs and dark chocolate return
