In the Forgue Valley, deep in the East Highland Hills, lies the malt distillery “The Glendronach”, one of Scotland’s oldest distilleries. The Glendronach makes whisky in true Highland style: a heavy and robust whisky perfect for a long aging period in sherry casks.
The award-winning Glendronach range combines the best of the Scottish Highlands and Spanish sherry skills and heritage to To offer whiskies with an elegant, complex character and enormous depth of flavor, matured in former sherry casks.

When the evening slowly turns into night tends, the darkness heralds the arrival of a greater reward. The aromas intensify and invite us to enjoy their company - this is an ode to darkness.
Matured in selected Pedro Ximénez sherry casks and with 50.8%vol. bottled, The Glendronach Ode to the Dark with its different layers of flavor gives a peak of enjoyment.

Tasting Notes: This is how The Glendronach Ode to the Dark tastes like

  • Nose: a symphony of mocha, black cherry and dark chocolate meets crème brulée with raisins, brown sugar and ginger
  • Palate: smooth layers of espresso and caramel cream merge with black grape and mint-chocolate ganache
  • Finish: very long in the finish - the cherries and chocolate are present, joined by caramel and brown sugar and some ginger
