The 12 year old Bowmore Sherry Oak Cask matures gently in carefully hand-picked former Oloroso Sherry - and Bourbon Casks. The Casks are then married together and finished in selected Oloroso Sherry Casks creates extraordinary layers of rich, sensory discovery.

The Bowmore 12 year old Sherry Oak Cask brings a rich hint of subtle sweetness and serves a delicious repertoire of notes of ripe red berries, as well as rich notes of vanilla, caramel and peaches.  

Gentle maturation in carefully selected former Oloroso sherry and bourbon casks gives it a fascinating and inviting complexity.

Tasting Notes: This is how the Bowmore 12 year old Sherry Oak Cask tastes like

  • Nose: at the beginning there are clear aromas of vanilla and soft caramel, along with red berries and Marzipan - powdered sugar and traces of dried fruits are present

  • Palate: full and round in taste - ripe pears, lemon juice, cinnamon and roasted almonds are present - then notes of ripe peaches follow Syrup - soft smoke over everything

  • Finish: long and pleasantly spicy in the finish
