With the The GlenAllachie 17 year old Masters of Wood - Mizunara & Oloroso Cask Finishmaster distiller Billy Walker presents perhaps his most luxurious bottling for The GlenAllachie. The single malt opens the Masters of Wood series, the new super-premium division of The GlenAllachie's Wood Collection. The series brings together only the finest and most experimental refinements.
The GlenAllachie is known for its flair in sourcing and managing both high-quality and unusual barrels from all over the world.Part of the impressive inventory? Mizunara Casks. Japanese oak is rarely used for whisky maturation due to its high price and the challenges it presents in storage.
Billy Walker combined the barrel rarity with Oloroso sherry puncheons and hogsheads. After 17 years of maturation, the noble result combines typical heather honey with dried orange peels, cinnamon apples and fig syrup and dusts everything with cocoa, pecans and Demerara sugar.

- Nose: initially aromas of spicy heather honey, followed by dried orange peel and crystallized ginger, hints of cocoa and roasted tobacco leaves paired with fresh vanilla pods
- Palate: full and complex with clear notes of baking spices and grilled honeycomb, behind them waves of strong cocoa, cooked cinnamon apples and Fig syrup
- Finish: long in the elegant finish with tones of pecans and demerara sugar
