The Balvenie 14 year old Caribbean Cask initially matures in former Bourbon Casks, the single malt is then given a finish lasting several months in selected former Caribbean Rum Casks.
The second maturation gives the Single Malt an elegant rum sweetness and delicate tones of exotic fruits.
Tasting Notes: This is how the Balvenie 14 year old Caribbean Cask tastes like
- Nose: very delicate, fresh aromas of exotic fruits, plus a pleasant sweetness of vanilla and honey
- Palate: the fruits are still present, the vanilla also comes through clearly, a little malt and fine Smokey tones in the background
- Finish: long, spicy finish with a slight oak note
