Behind the name Whitlaw lies the larger of the two Orkney distilleries. For this bottling, Signatory chose the now rare Signatory series in the copper-colored tubes Rechar Butts.
Distilled in September 2014, bottled in September 2024.
The copper-colored tubes stood for many years synonymously with affordable ( Entry-level whiskeys. Signatory is gradually discontinuing the series. One of the last bottlings comes from the stormy Orkney Islands:The Whitlaw 10 year old 2014/2024 matured for 10 years in Recharred Butts.

Whether bottlings from closed distilleries, in demand Single malts from distilleries that no longer issue barrels to independent bottlers, or from those that do not release any whiskies under their own name: Signatory Vintage has them all.
 
Well over 10,000 Casks are stored in the halls in the Highland town of Pitlochry. Selected by hand, they are bottled in our own facility. Sometimes in cask strength, sometimes brought to drinking strength, but always neither chill-filtered nor colored, they come onto the market in different series.

Tasting Notes: This is how the Whitlaw 10 year old Rechar Butts Vintage Signatory tastes like

• Nose: delicate, sweet peat smoke and spicy heather paired with spicy heather honey 

• Palate: mouth-filling, soft and spicy with strong notes of heather and fresh herbs - followed by slightly fruity hints of dried fruits, plus soft toffee, ripe red berries and juicy raisins - above all the sweet peat smoke

• Finish: medium-long in the fruity-spicy finish - toffee, Heather and raisins in harmony with the tropical smoke
