Lochlea's seasonal small batch releases showcase the independent, family-run farm distillery's signature style in four different ways. As an agricultural business, Lochlea adapts the bottlings precisely to what is going on at the farm in leafy Ayrshire at any given time of year. The Third Crops are the final releases in the series.
The Lochlea Harvest Edition (Third Crop) is inspired by the busy harvest season when during summer sunsets the barley is brought in for the following year's whiskey. The single malt was matured twice: in refill Bourbon Barrels and Port Hogsheads as well as an Oloroso Sherry Butt. Another year older, it offers a new take on the sweet and summery flavor profile of harvest whiskies. Foodies can look forward to lush dessert notes balanced by spicy black pepper.
