Talisker will also be the called “King o' drinks”. A fitting title for the maritime, smoky single malt from the breathtakingly beautiful Isle of Skye. With its aroma, Talisker represents Scotland like no other Scotch Whisky. His character combines the wild, rough beauty of the Scottish landscape with the warm warmth and hospitality of the Scots. The island whisky is known for its “Chili Catch”, a spicy kick on the finish. Talisker skillfully counters this with warm caramel tones and malty sweetness. Tasting Notes: This is what the Talisker 8 year old Special Release 2024 tastes like
- Nose: a gentle, dry scent maritime aromas of sea breezes and oyster shells on an earthy, mineral base - with a little water the maritime aromas intensify and the spice recedes a little
- Palate: very smooth, creamy and powerful - first sweet and then salty with a distinctive mineral note, slightly dry with apple, pear and a nice balance of saltiness and pepper spice
- Finish: long in the finish, with a lot of Talisker-typical Spice and a cooling Sichuan pepper effect in the aftertaste, which intensifies with a little water
