Portrait: What makes the Planteray Black Cask Barbados & Paraguay special

A real premium blended rum made from selected rum qualities from Barbados and Paraguay.
The selected Casks initially matured for several years in their home countries Barbados and Paraguay in former 200l Bourbon Casks - the selected Casks were then married together in France and then matured in heavily toasted 300l Ferrand Casks in France .

The selected rum qualities were distilled and matured in Barbados at the Stade's West Indies Rum Distillery and in Paraguay at the Fortin Distillery.

Tasting Notes: This is how the Planteray Black Cask Barbados & Paraguay tastes like

  • Nose: Aromas of ripe tropical fruits with nuances of spices, caramel, coconut, vanilla and hazelnuts - followed by complex layers of almond cream, cinnamon, cocoa and gingerbread
  • Palate: a tasty and balanced rum with elegant notes of fruit, toasted baking spices, molasses and candied raspberries
  • Finish: the finish is rich, with notes of sweet coffee, coconut, nutmeg and cinnamon, followed by raisins and plums
