Matured in a cask combination of first fill bourbon and first fill oloroso sherry casks. The traditional and full-bodied Islay style is created in particular by emphasizing the first fill bourbon barrels. The characteristic Islay characteristics of peat and smoke harmonize with a sweet fruitiness and intense depth of flavor. Bottled at Ardnahoe's preferred alcohol content of 50.0%vol. without artificial colors or chill filtration.

Distillery Manager Fraser Hughes created the first generation of Ardnahoe using traditional
methods: soft peated Islay water is taken from Loch Ardnahoe, while the Distillery uses two traditional worm tubs - the only ones on Islay.These have been chosen to give the malt additional depth of flavor and complexity.

The Ardnahoe Distillery fulfills the Laing family's long-held wish to produce their own single malt Scotch whiskey on the magical island of Islay. The Islay Distillery combines the characteristic Islay characteristics of peat and smoke, with a sweet fruitiness and an intense depth of flavor. Ardnahoe distills exclusively using traditional methods: soft peated Islay water is taken from the eponymous Loch Ardnahoe, while Ardnahoe is the only distillery on Islay to use two traditional worm tubs, as well as two copper pot stills with exceptionally long lyne arms, which are designed for one ensure extreme copper contact and give the whiskey an additional depth of flavor and complexity.
