The enchanted building complex of the Edradour Distillery houses old, eerily beautiful devices with which a truly magical drink is produced in very limited quantities.
Distilled on foggy full moon nights, the Ballechin 13 year old 2010/2024 covers the senses of daring connoisseurs with impenetrable clouds of smoke. The terribly limited Halloween Edition was stored for 13 dark years in Oak Casks from the spookiest forests, covered in spells and hidden in the cobwebiest corners of the warehouse.
Now the peaty ghost is the Highland distillery captured in 666 ghostly bottles. Anyone who dares can free him on October 31st. Trick or peat!
Tasting Notes: This is how the Ballechin 13 year old Trick or Peat Halloween Edition 2024 tastes like
- Nose: at the beginning there is sweet smoke, followed by aromas of fresh vanilla and butterscotch - soft caramel fudge and spicy oak are also present.
- Palate: mouth-filling, almost oily in taste a slight sweetness of caramel and vanilla, plus strong malty notes - then getting spicier, notes of caneel and coriander - above all soft, sweet peat smoke
- Finish: very long finish - sweet vanilla fudge and peat smoke are balanced
