Rob Roy MacGregor (1671-1734)
The 26th edition of Famous Scots series features the Scottish clan leader Rob Roy, who is now known in numerous titles as the Scottish Robin Hood of the Highlands. Rob Roy MacGregor, born in Scotland in 1671, was a Scottish clan leader during the Age of Enlightenment. A fearless fighter and skilled cattle trader, he courageously stood up to corrupt landowners and the British government.

Today, Rob Roy MacGregor fascinates as a significant historical figure whose legacy embodies indomitable courage and an unshakable fighting spirit. As the Scottish Robin Hood, his persona was immortalized in literary works such as “Highland Rogue” by Daniel Defoe and “Rob Roy” by Sir Walter Scott. This rarity from the old barrel cellar of the independent Glenfarclas distillery matured exclusively in selected Oloroso sherry barrels.

An excellent, long-aged Glenfarclas single malt from 1996 with intense Glenfarclas sherry aromas, individually numbered and strictly limited to 1,800 bottles.
