In autumn 2024, Kilchoman will surprise you with this elegant full Cask maturation, which has matured exclusively in former Ruby Port wine Casks, of which the youngest malt whiskies are six years old.
Maturation in Port Wine Casks gives the single malt, which is known for its maritime peat smoke and light citrus sweetness, an additional intense sweetness of red berries, cinnamon and figs.
The limited edition comes with it an alcohol content of 50%vol. and offers an intense sweetness of red berries, cinnamon and figs with a long-lasting smoky finish.
Tasting Notes: This is how the Kilchoman Port Cask Matured tastes like
- Nose: clear aromas of red, ripe berries and figs, plus Kilchoman's typical citrus fruits, some cinnamon and smoked paprika
- Palate: boiled strawberries are present, then sweet tobacco - above all smoked meat and coal smoke
- Finish: long and warm in the finish with a wonderfully fruity sweetness and the smoke of cold ashes
