The Balvenie 12 year old Double Wood is presented in an elegant gift box with an original Balvenie tumbler.
The Balvenie 12 year old Double Wood is stored in two different Casks.
First for 11.5 years in former bourbon barrels and then for a further 6 months in selected former sherry casks.
The sherry is unmistakably evident in the aroma and taste of the Balvenie 12 year old Double Wood, plus there are slight orange tones.

Tasting Notes: This is how the Balvenie 12 year old Double Wood tastes like

  • Nose: ground barley, slightly nutty, then fruity notes of grapefruit and cherries
  • Palate: sweet in taste, the fruitiness is clear - now orange and red berries, slightly spicy with a little vanilla - and in the very background you think there is some peat
  • Finish: dry and spicy finish, pleasantly warming
