Portrait: What defines the Savanna L'Absolu 2024.

La Réunion is a sugar cane paradise. If you want to experience the natural resources of the volcanic tropical island in their most beautiful form, Savanna is the right choice. The distillery produces rum from sugar cane juice as well as molasses by hand and brings this unadulterated to discerning connoisseurs.
 
With the Savanna L' Absolu 2024 rum connoisseurs will have the rare opportunity to taste some of the oldest Savanna stocks. Blended by Master Blender Thierry Grondin, the limited annual bottling expresses the distillery's extensive know-how in blending rare rums - and gets the absolute best out of them.

Coming for 2024 four very old barrels, aged 14-16 years, as well as an eight-year-old barrel of Savannas High Ester Rum, MR, were used.The result is a little stronger than its predecessor. A full-bodied aroma of cake with caramelized apples and wood spices is complemented by chocolate and ends long and deliciously.

Tasting Notes: This is how Savanna L'Absolu 2024 tastes like

• Nose: delicious, full of caramel and baked apple (Tart Tatin) - a woody-spicy note is well present, plus aromas of rancio and pickled fruits 
• Palate: lively start, then elegant and round with renewed wood spice, strong chocolate notes and a very fine bitter note
• Finish: very pleasant experience, balanced, strong, tasty and long-lasting in the finish
