The 100 Proof Edition has been closing a gap in the Signatory range since the beginning of 2024. 57.1%vol. or 100 proof is the minimum level at which gunpowder soaked in alcohol can be ignited. Signatory Vintage has been dedicating its own series to the historical unit since the beginning of 2024, in which high-proof quality whiskey meets low prices.

The Secret Orkney 2010 100 Proof Edition #23 leaves delicate peat smoke and hearty spice on nuts and fruity sweetness >meet. The “mystery malt” from the stormy islands for 14 years in Andalusian butts, pre-filled with Oloroso Sherry.

Tasting Notes: This is what the Secret Orkney 2010 100 Proof Edition #23 Signatory Vintage tastes like

  • Nose: clearly ripe, dark cherries, candied oranges, spicy heather and some honey
  • Palate: fruity in taste with a creamy mouthfeel - then roasted almonds, powdered sugar, marzipan, peaches and cream
  • Finish: soft and long finish - notes of macaroons, walnuts and apricots
