Glenmorangie Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky gives its flagship even more deliciousness: instead of the previous 10 year old, the new Glenmorangie 12 year old The Original has been matured for at least 12 years. The silky-smooth, creamy Glenmorangie has been delighting people for many years. Notes of orange, honey, vanilla and peach catapult one of the most popular Scottish single malt whiskies into a new, wonderful world of aromas. The new bottling has already won its first gold medal at the World Whisky Awards.

Dr. Bill Lumsden, Director of Whisky Creation at Glenmorangie, says: “I first tried Single Malt Scotch when I was studying in Edinburgh in 1984. This whisky was Glenmorangie. I will never forget that first magical sip - the complex variety of flavors enchanted me. Throughout my years of working for Glenmorangie, I have retained this memory to ensure the whiskey is as unique as the first sip. Recently, my team and I asked ourselves: Can we make The Original even more delicious?"

As part of this mission, the Glenmorangie tasting team experimented with The Original. Aged for 12 years, the silky, sweet and complex flavors increased significantly compared to the ten year old. Glenmorangie is therefore changing the recipe of The Original from summer 2024 to offer whisky lovers worldwide even more enjoyment.

Dr. Bill continues: “The result with The Original 12 year old is a smooth, creamy and complex single malt - we have significantly enhanced the classic notes of orange, honey, vanilla and peach, simply delicious!”

Recipe suggestion: GLENMORANGIE GOLDEN APRICOT

• 40ml Glenmorangie 12 year old The Original
• 20ml Apricot nectar
• 10ml fresh lime juice
• 10ml elderflower syrup

Add all the ingredients a few ice cubes in a tumbler. Stir the cocktail 3-5 times and decorate the glass with an orange zest

Tasting Notes: This is how the Glenmorangie 12 year old The Original tastes like

• Nose: the scent of citrus fruits is obvious, oranges with aromas of ripe peaches follow and are finely rounded off by aromas of mild vanilla
• Palate: a mild start with sweet notes of vanilla and honey, which slowly unfold on the palate - floral fruitiness takes over with notes of orange, again peach, which, together with the initial sweetness, provide further complexity
• Finish: Orange and peach notes in the medium-long finish
