Portrait: What makes the Tamdhu Cuatro Reserva special

The Tamdhu Cuatro Reserva was bottled for the travel retail market.
The elegant single malt from the renowned Scottish Speyside distillery Tamdhu matures exclusively in former Spanish sherry casks.

The 1897 The Tamdhu distillery founded has relied on valuable and aromatic oak Casks from Andalusia right from the start.
For several years now, the distillery's Speyside single malts have been matured exclusively in Oloroso Sherry Casks - the cornerstone for the intense, fruity taste and the natural depth of color of the whiskies.   
 

Tasting Notes: This is how the Tamdhu Cuatro Reserva tastes like

  • Nose: at the beginning soft toffee fudge and fresh vanilla, followed by clear aromas of juicy dried fruits, especially prunes and dates - in the background red apples and almonds
  • Palate: soft and mouth-filling in taste - again the fudge and the vanilla, now more clearly the almonds and the dried fruits - above all notes of dark chocolate and cocoa
  • Finish: long and soft in the finish - the The influence of the sherry casks is clearly present - prunes, dates and raisins paired with almonds and chocolate
