The sugar cane paradise of La Réunion is home to the Savanna distillery. Where the tall sweet grass thrives on fertile soil, the distillery has been turning it into authentic rums by hand since 1870. In the form of freshly pressed juice as well as molasses - a rarity for distilleries in the French overseas departments.
Savanna Single Casks are also rare. More than a year after the premiere, there is now a new single cask bottling exclusively for the German market. With the Savanna 10 year old Cognac Cask, one of the finest rums from the distillery's cellars finds its way to connoisseurs. Distilled from molasses in the C20 column still, it matured for a full decade in the climate of the tropical island. Finally, 640 Cask strength bottles could be filled from the French Oak Cask.
