Once a year the Wolfburn Distillery presents a special bottling exclusively for the German market, which can be recognized by the “Vibrant Stills” logo.
In late summer 2024, Wolfburn will now present the first bottling that received a finish in former Casks of the French dessert wineSauternes.
First, the Single Malt matured for 8 years in fresh Bourbon Barrels, then finished for another 6 months in the very best fresh Sauternes sweet Wine Casks.
The result speaks for itself for itself: a lush, fruity and complex drop!
Tasting Notes: This is how the Wolfburn 8 year old Vibrant Stills 1st-fill Sauternes Cask Finish tastes like
- Nose: lush fruity aromas - ripe bananas set the tone here, followed by peaches, plus soft honey, milk chocolate and fresh yoghurt
- Palate: sweet and tropically fruity, notes of vanilla cream , ripe passion fruit and apricot, behind it cherry and banana juice, some syrup and cotton candy
- Finish: fruity, floral and creamy in the long finish with hints of jelly bananas, white grapes and slightly green Tones of sage and anise
