Andrew W. Symington went from being a “bottler” to a distiller in 2002 with the takeover of Edradour Distillery.
In its long history, the Edradour Distillery has survived both lean and prosperous times: from the original success story of blended Scotch whiskey to its acquisition by the New York Mafia from being taken over by a major corporation to returning to independent Scottish hands.
Produce Whisky in its most original form - that made “Scotland's Little Gem” a legend among Scotch fans. As one of the few distilleries in Scotland, Edradour produced its single malt exclusively in the distillery's old farm buildings until 2018. Some of them use equipment that has been around for more than 100 years and is rarely used in whiskey production anymore. This has not changed even after the completed expansion with Edradour II.
One of the oldest bottlings from the distillery is the Edradour 25 year old Batch No. 2. After a quarter of a century in First Fill Sherry Butts, the neither colored nor chill-filtered single malt was bottled into the shapely Ibisco decanters.
Batch No. 2 consists of seven Casks and resulted in a total of 2,332 bottles.
