The Ardbeg Traigh Bhan 19 year old Batch #6 has its own, very special touch.Like its award-winning predecessors, the new edition of the exclusive small series has also matured in former Bourbon Casks and Oloroso Sherry Casks. Its higher proportion of American white oak barrels ensures the ultimate, powerful Ardbeg aroma. The fine balance that is typical of this series emerges with olive oil tones, freshly mown grass and the classic Ardbeg notes such as tar rope, mint, dark chocolate, soot smoke and fennel.
The aroma profile is not the only thing that changes from year to year.
Each batch of Ardbeg Traigh Bhan 19 year old carries its own batch number, a batch symbol and the signature of a well-known face of the distillery, which make the bottling a collector's item.
Tasting Notes: This is how the Ardbeg 19 year old of Traigh Bhan Batch #6 tastes like
- Nose: at the beginning there is a surprising, quite unusual scent of olive oil, followed by Ardbeg-typical aromas of tar and soot smoke, followed by ginger chocolate and freshly mown grass - with a little water the bouquet opens up and reveals the ultimate Ardbeg aromas with fennel, peppermint, eucalyptus and tar-soaked rope in the foreground.
- Palate: full and somewhat oily, followed by an intense minty sweetness, which is accompanied by freshly toasted bread, tar oil, tar soap and a hint of smoked pineapple - then clearly strong notes of dark chocolate, peppermint cream, campfire embers and camphor
- Finish: The long finish reveals hints of fresh coffee grounds and licorice, which slowly fade away
