Portrait: What defines the Amrut Bagheera.

At the turn of the millennium, the first lines in the history of Indian whiskey were made at Scottish level written. Namely from Amrut. India's flagship distillery was the first in the country to produce genuine, unadulterated single malt. The ambitious distillers usesmall-grained and therefore sweeter barley from the foot of the Himalayas, spring water from the mountains and Scottish peat malt for smoky variants.
 
Made from 99 percent unpeated barley and 1 percent peated barley. Previously available as a limited edition, the single malt has been permanently expanding the range since summer 2024. The smooth“black panther”, as the whisky is translated from Hindu, is finished in sherry casks. Its aromatic and enjoyable palette is bursting with naturalness and generosity: Fresh fruits and nuts as well as soft vanilla and creamy caramel merge elegantly with delicate wisps of smoke.

Tasting Notes: This is how the Amrut Bagheera tastes like

• Nose: very complex, the first nose is characterized by notes of dried fruits, walnuts, almonds and caramel - after a while, vanilla pods and toffee complement the aromas of peat and smoke with great vigor
• Palate: the taste is remarkably fruity with notes of oranges, apricots and peaches, as well as chestnuts and Chestnuts - with a texture reminiscent of taffeta, the mid-palate reveals delicious toffee notes
• Finish: very long and deliciously vanilla tasting, with thickening trails of smoke that accompany the finish
