Loch Lomond is presenting the second edition of the annual limited Cooper's CollectionLoch Lomond in spring 2024 Single Grain Cooper's Collection - Spanish Oak Cask. The Coopers Collection is distilled with 100% malted barley in Loch Lomond's bespoke all-copper Continuous Coffey still. The result is a single grain Scotch whisky with elegant fruit and floral aromas, which are coated by the warming spice of cloves and vanilla sweetness of the Spanish oak Casks.
Michael Henry chose some of the older first-fill Casks for this made of American oak. In collaboration with the excellent team of coopers, the single grain was then refined in the finest handcrafted Spanish oak barrels to create a unique and complex single grain whisky.
Tasting Notes: This is how the Loch Lomond Coopers Collection #2 Spanish Oak Single Grain tastes like
- Nose: floral aromas and ripe berries, followed by aromas of toasted oak
- Palate: a mouth-filling sweet spice with notes of creamy vanilla, plus spicy heather honey and cloves
- Finish: medium long dry and warm finish
